Player's Guide

One Last Song is a community competition, discovery and collaboration platform for AI-generated music. You can listen, vote, enter songs, build playlists, ask for detailed reviews, grow creative lineages, support music you love and build a long-term record of your contribution.

The core loop: Listen → Vote → Earn → Create → Compete or Collaborate → Progress

1. Create your profile

New members begin with 50 points. Your profile can include:

  • A unique username and profile picture
  • A bio and creator links
  • Tournament songs, standalone songs, results and statistics
  • Hotted songs
  • Weekly Honours and Progress summary
  • A Praise Wall
  • Links to The Review Room and Song Tree
  • Controls for The Crate, notifications, public Progress and Champions Rumble eligibility

Only you can see your points balance.

2. Discover music

Use different parts of the site for different kinds of discovery:

  • Tournaments — open and active competitions
  • Vote — battles waiting for your decision
  • Hall of Champions — completed champions
  • Leaderboard — creators, songs and tournament success
  • The Listening Post — five-song member playlists
  • The Review Room — detailed funded feedback
  • Song Tree — creative lineage between songs
  • The Crate — a fresh daily discovery mix
  • Weekly Report — community activity, champions, Hots, honours and open tournaments

Guests can browse much of the site. Sign in for voting, submissions, Hots, discussion, points, collaborative features and personal tools.

3. Vote in battles

Every battle is head-to-head.

  1. Listen to each song for at least 45 seconds.
  2. Choose the one you prefer.
  3. An accepted vote earns 1 point.

You cannot vote for your own entry and may vote only once per battle.

RoundVotes needed
Round 14
Round 25
Round 36
Round 47

A battle ends when a song reaches its target. Otherwise the round may remain open for up to 4 days. At the deadline, the higher score wins. A tied score goes to the song that reached that total first; 0–0 uses bracket position.

You can hide battles from your own Vote feed and restore them later.

4. Earn and spend points

Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred.

5. Enter and manage tournament songs

Open tournaments are shown as Join In. Standard genre tournaments use 4- and 8-song brackets; 16-song brackets are used for Champions Rumbles and eligible user-created events.

Submission supports Suno, Udio, YouTube, SoundCloud and Spotify links.

To enter:

  1. Open an eligible lobby.
  2. Enter the title and artist name.
  3. Paste a supported song link.
  4. Add optional description, AI tool and artwork.
  5. Confirm the 10-point cost.

Your song must be AI-generated, fit the genre or brief and be material you have the right to use.

Competition tracks

Three parent genres now have separate standard competition streams, each with its own lobbies and numbering:

  • Jazz & Blues: Jazz and Blues
  • Wildcard: Anything Goes accepts any song, including one that would fit another genre; Anything Else is for songs that fit none of the other available genre categories
  • Electronic: Instrumental Electronic is for tracks without significant lyrical vocals, though occasional vocal samples, textures, chops or effects are fine; Vocal Electronic is for tracks where sung, rapped, spoken or other lyrical vocals are significant

For Progress, both tracks in each pair still count toward their shared parent Genre Standing.

Reuse a song

From your profile, Submit Again creates a fresh eligible tournament entry while leaving the earlier entry unchanged. The normal entry cost applies.

Edit or withdraw

You can edit title and artist name on your own entry. An approved lobby entry can be withdrawn before the tournament starts, with the entry cost refunded.

Masked Artist

Masked Artist is currently available. Turn on Submit Anonymously and upload an MP3 of up to 30 MB. The private copy is used during the tournament so the external source and your identity stay hidden. When the tournament completes, the private copy is deleted, your identity is revealed and the saved canonical song link takes over. The option is also available through Submit Again.

6. Follow tournaments and join discussion

Tournament pages show the brief, genre, size, prizes, entrants, songs, current round, battles, bracket, champion and discussion.

Use Hot to show support for another member's song. You cannot Hot your own entry. Hots affect discovery but do not count as battle votes.

Signed-in members can comment, reply, edit their own comments, mention others and use reactions such as Thanks, Agree and LOL where available. Profile Praise Walls do not use the LOL reaction.

Use Report for content that needs moderator attention. Use Help & Feedback for an Issue, Question or Idea.

7. Use The Review Room

The Review Room is for detailed feedback, not competition.

List a song

From the Songs section of your profile, choose List in The Review Room for an eligible tournament or standalone song.

Set:

  • Points per review
  • Total budget

Use positive whole points. The budget must divide evenly by the review reward, can fund no more than 100 reviews, and is reserved in advance. A song can have only one active listing at a time.

You can also add a standalone song to your profile without entering it into a battle, then list that song for review.

If you close a listing before every funded slot is used, the unused reserved points are returned automatically.

Write a paid review

A review must be at least 250 characters. You cannot review your own song and can earn the funded reward only once for each song.

When a valid review is posted, the advertised points are paid to the reviewer.

Each review starts a flat discussion thread. Replies continue the conversation without using another paid review slot.

Reported reviews can be investigated by moderators. Where appropriate, the owner can be refunded and a reviewer can be warned or have Review Room reviewing access suspended.

8. Grow a Song Tree

Song Tree is a non-competitive creative lineage system.

Plant a root

Only the owner can plant a song as a root. You can plant an eligible tournament song or standalone song and optionally add an invitation describing the kind of response you would like.

There is no vote, bracket, winner or deadline.

Add a branch

Choose Grow from this song, select one of your own songs or add a new standalone song, then choose the relationship:

  • Inspired by
  • Remix
  • Sampled
  • Reworked
  • Continuation
  • Response
  • Other

Add an optional note explaining the connection.

A branch has one direct parent inside that tree. The same song cannot appear twice in the same tree. Every branch can itself become a parent, allowing deeper generations.

The ancestry trail shows the route back to the root. Tree View shows the broader structure.

Song Tree rewards

Every valid new branch earns 1 point from One Last Song.

The owner of any Song Tree song can also reserve an optional extra reward for a chosen number of direct branches. That creator-funded reward applies only to direct children of that song, not to later descendants.

If every funded reward is claimed, branching stays open and the standard 1 point continues. Closing an active reward returns any unused reserved points.

9. Build a Listening Post playlist

The Listening Post is community curation around five-song playlists.

  1. Create a draft.
  2. Choose eligible songs from your own catalogue or songs you have Hotted.
  3. Add a title, Sleeve Notes and optional cover.
  4. Complete the playlist with five different songs.
  5. Spend 10 points to promote it for 7 days.

You may have up to 5 paid promotions active at once.

Listener reward

For an eligible promoted playlist, listen to all five songs for 2 minutes each, then select Collect Reward for 15 points.

You cannot claim from your own playlist or one containing your own submitted song. Paid promotions can fund up to 20 listener rewards, and each listener can claim up to 20 Listening Post rewards per UTC day.

If there are no paid promotions, free daily fallback playlists may appear for discovery. They do not offer the paid reward and do not count toward Curator Progress.

10. Dig through The Crate

The Crate replaced One Last Radio and refreshes daily with up to 25 eligible playable songs.

Its target mix is:

  • 10 songs with strong Hots from the last 30 days
  • 5 all-time Hot favourites
  • 5 recent champions from the last 90 days
  • 5 active Listener Picks

If a category is short, remaining places can be backfilled from strong Hot candidates. The selection also limits repeated tracks from one creator and excludes songs that are unavailable, actively masked, opted out or otherwise ineligible.

You can see why each track was selected, Hot songs and review recently played tracks.

From your profile, Manage my Crate songs lets you test or replace playback links or opt songs out.

A Listener Pick costs 5 points for 30 days and places an eligible playable song in The Crate's Listener Pick pool. It may be your own song or one you have Hotted. It does not guarantee daily inclusion.

11. Create Special or Remix Tournaments

The Shop lets players create community events:

  • Special Tournament — custom title and brief
  • Remix Tournament — source track plus remix brief

Both can use 4, 8 or 16 songs, costing 15, 30 or 60 points. Briefs must be 20–500 characters and Remix sources must use supported music links.

You can have up to 10 open or active Special Tournaments and 10 open or active Remix Tournaments at once; the two limits are counted separately.

Creating a tournament contributes to Event Promoter Progress once it launches.

12. Understand Champions Rumbles

Champions Rumbles reuse songs that have already won championships. Every Rumble is a 16-song, four-round tournament. The song is copied from its championship record, so its owner pays no new entry fee. Normal 16-song voting targets, deadlines and prizes apply.

Genre Rumbles

A championship from a 4-, 8- or 16-song tournament in a specific genre creates an opportunity in that genre's queue. Wildcard is treated as a specific genre.

An Any Genre championship does not create a Genre opportunity. Jazz and Blues use separate competition and Rumble streams, while older combined Jazz & Blues championships remain in a legacy combined queue.

Anything Goes and Anything Else remain together in one Wildcard Genre Rumble queue. Instrumental Electronic and Vocal Electronic remain together in one Electronic Genre Rumble queue.

Global Rumbles

Only a championship from a 16-song tournament creates a Global opportunity. This can include an eligible 16-song standard, Special, Remix or Champions Rumble result, including Any Genre.

Genre and Global queues are independent. A 16-song championship in a specific genre can therefore create one opportunity in each.

Queue order and activity

Each queue is considered chronologically using the championship completion time. A Rumble needs 16 valid selections.

The owner must have qualifying activity within the previous 45 days. Casting a vote or making a genuine direct song submission counts. The activity cache is refreshed weekly from the previous 60 days, so activity completed just after a refresh may not count until the next one.

Duplicate and preference rules

Before creation, the system checks that each opportunity is still unused, the account is not suspended and the recording is not excluded.

The same member's same-titled song cannot appear twice in one Rumble or be selected again while an earlier copy is waiting in a lobby for that scope. A later duplicate opportunity stays in its original queue position for a future Rumble.

From your profile, Manage my Champions Rumble Songs lets you switch a champion recording between Eligible and Excluded. Excluding it prevents future Genre and Global selections, but does not remove it from a lobby it has already joined or from an active or completed Rumble.

A Rumble winner is another champion. Because every Rumble has 16 songs, that win can create a new Global opportunity and, when the Rumble has a specific genre, a new Genre opportunity.

13. Build your Progress

Progress is separate from spendable points and is recalculated daily. Review Room and Song Tree rewards affect your points balance but do not currently add separate Progress badges.

Notifications can cover battle and tournament results, comments, replies, mentions, Listening Post activity, Review Room activity, direct Song Tree branches and Progress achievements.

Wider notification broadcasts use the site's active-user eligibility rules.

The Weekly Report summarises the community and preserves previous reports in its archive.
